6th person arrested in deadly SC Bojangles shooting that killed college student
Loris Police arrested a final person for the summer Bojangles shooting that killed a college student.
Zarius Vereen was arrested for murder and attempted murder on Dec. 10. A Loris Police officer told The Sun News on Wednesday that he is the last person arrested for the Aug. 7 shooting near a Bojangles in downtown Loris, 4207 Main St.
Kenasia Martin, 22, of Greensboro, North Carolina, died from her gunshot injuries and a second person was injured and brought to the hospital, The Sun News previously reported.
The Sun News requested the incident report and arrest warrant from Loris Police, but it was not received before publication.
Feleshisa Goodman, 24; Lilly Stephens, 33; William Thatcher Goodman, 52; Antonio Dewayne Goodman, 53; and Ebony Vereen, 32, have all been arrested in the shooting. Four out of the six remain at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bail. Stephens is out on a $30,000 bond and William Goodman is out on a $50,000 bond, according to online bookings.
It is unclear what led to the shooting.
Martin was a rising junior at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University studying social work when she died, according to her obituary. She’d previously worked as a substitute teacher while getting her associate’s degree at Southeastern Community College.
