2nd suspect in Coastal Grand Mall shooting case makes court appearance.
A second suspect—one who is also considered a victim—in a stabbing and shooting at the Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach could soon be released from jail on bond.
Myrtle Beach police announced on Monday that officers charged Dewayne Cumbee, 24, with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful carrying of a pistol. He appeared in Myrtle Beach municipal court where Jude Scott Long set bond at a total of $105,000.
Dionte Roddey White was previously charged in connection to the case.
Cumbee’s attorney said that his client was stabbed multiple times in the incident.
“He may be a victim of this as much as anything else,” attorney Preston Britain said.

On Sept. 8, more than a dozen police officers and ambulances responded to the mall off U.S. 17 Bypass around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday for a reported shooting. Officers blocked off the entrance to the food court area of the mall with yellow tape. A second-crime scene was blocked off 100 yards away in the parking lot.
Authorities said the mall attack stemmed from an incident earlier in the week. White went to the mall, bought a knife and then waited for his victims. When he saw them in the food court, White pounced.
White fled the mall, Cumbee gave chase, then took out a gun at fired at White in the parking lot, investigators say. White left the area and was apprehended a short time later.
One of the victims had a stab wound to the shoulder, Cumbee was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
