‘They loved life’: Friends, family remember two gunned down after SC fender-bender
From just feet away from where Nick Wall and Laura Anderson were gunned down after a fender-bender, dozens gathered to remember the two who lit up a room.
“They loved life and lived it to the fullest,” said Beverly Thompson, a family friend, who spoke at a Monday vigil for the two.
Wall and Anderson were shot and killed after a traffic crash on Georgetown Road on Aug. 24. A third person, a witness, was also injured. Wall was Anderson’s step-father and was helping her settle into her new home at the time of the shooting.
Georgetown County police arrested and charged Tysheem Hashm Walters, 23, with two counts of murder, attempted murder and three counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is being held in jail without bond set in his case.
The site of the shooting is outside of Andrews in Georgetown County, South Carolina.
Anderson, 21, recently started teaching Sunday School and decided she wanted to be an educator full-time, Thompson said. Monday would have been her first day of classes for her new career.
“Laura, the little girl who grew up to be a lovely young lady,” Thompson said.
Wall owned a fencing business and both he and Anderson were active in their church.
“Nick was a kind person, he never met a stranger, he was always laid back,” Thompson said, “and he was selfless.”
