Georgetown County man and his stepdaughter killed in a shooting following a vehicle crash
A Georgetown County man and his stepdaughter are dead after a minor traffic crash resulted in a shooting on Monday in Georgetown.
Charles Nicholas ‘Nick’ Wall, 45, of Andrews, was pronounced dead at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital early Monday evening, and Laura Ashley Anderson, 21, of Georgetown died at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston around 8 p.m. Monday, according to Georgetown County coroner Kenneth Johnson.
Another male was also shot and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Johnson said.
Ty Sheem Ha Sheem Walters III, a 23-year-old man from Moncks Corner, was captured and arrested Monday night, and was being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center, according to a Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Investigators are seeking two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder charges in connection with the shooting.
Police say Walters is suspected of shooting the three people following a vehicle crash on U.S. 521 near Indian Hut Road around 5 p.m., then fleeing on foot toward the Kent Road area, the release states.
Investigators questioned multiple witnesses and deployed tracking bloodhound K9s in the woods nearby and eventually located Walters, according to the sheriff’s office.
