Horry County police arrest suspect in shooting death of 4-year-old

An “armed and dangerous” man is in custody after the shooting of a 4-year-old on Saturday, police say.

Horry County police announced around 10:30 p.m. that Henry Tyrone Moody was taken into custody. That was a couple of hours after police asked for the public’s help finding him. Officers labeled him “armed and dangerous.”

Police said he was wanted for murder in connection to a shooting that left a child dead. Around 3 p.m., officers responded to the 7000 block of Mill Pond Road outside of Galivants Ferry, South Carolina, for the reported shooting.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim on Sunday as Carson Walker of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Moody is awaiting extradition from North Carolina.
