77-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit along U.S. 501 in Horry County

A 77-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a car along U.S. 501 Friday night.

Nancy Cueto, of Myrtle Beach, died at the scene near Grand Strand Nissan, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office. The crash happened near the intersection with Carolina Forest Boulevard as Cueto tried to cross U.S. 501.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

It was the second fatal crash along U.S. Highway 501 near Carolina Forest Boulevard on Friday. A 19-year-old woman died after a wreck that happened around 8 a.m.
