Conway area murder suspect was charged with drug possession in March, released on bond
An 18-year-old is charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting in the Conway area, and the suspect was free on bond at the time of the killing.
Horry County police charged Cameron Paul Woo-Shuler, of Conway, with murder, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a weapon in a violent crime. He is being held in J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.
Woo-Shuler faces life in prison if convicted.
Horry County police went to Oak Log Lake Road around 3 p.m. Wednesday for the reported shooing. Oak Log Lake Road is off S.C. 905 and near the intersection of S.C. 19.
A 19-year-old was found dead along the road as the result of the shooting. The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Tristan Sillsbury.
According to arrest warrants, the victim was shot in the chest with a handgun. Woo-Shuler admitted to shooting Sillsbury, police say. Th gun was found in the car Woo-Shuler drove to the victim’s home to sell a quarter-pound of marijuana.
Woo-Shuler was arrested by Conway police in mid-March on two drug charges and three counts of contempt of family court. He was released in late March on a $7,500 personal recognizance bond. His drug charges remain active in Horry County court.
