He admitted to peeping up a dress at Broadway at the Beach. Here is his sentence.
A man admitted to taking pictures up a woman’s dress at Broadway at the Beach in summer of 2019, and now faces years of supervision.
Malcolm Giles, 23, was in Horry County court on Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to second-degree assault. He did plea in January in connection to the case, but it was withdrawn in favor of Wednesday’s plea.
Judge Steven John sentenced Giles under the state’s Youthful Offenders Act to up to three years incarceration and one year of probation. The act allows first-time offenders to avoid jail and eventually get their record expunged if they complete the program.
Assistant Solicitor O’Bryan Martin said Giles in July was in a store — which Myrtle Beach police identified as the Vintage House — when he asked an employee to reach for an item high on a shelf.
Giles then took a photograph under the woman’s dress, Martin said.
The woman told police that as she was helping Giles, she saw him laying his phone on the floor and pointing it up her dress.
