Horry County Coroner identifies man shot and killed outside of Conway

A 20-year-old man died in a shooting on Ida Lane earlier this week, officials said.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Tybius Owens and classified his death as a homicide. Horry County police continue to investigate the Tuesday shooting.

Officers responded to Ida Lane in the Conway area around 1 a.m. Tuesday for the reported shooting. Owens was the only person shot inside his own home.

Horry County police have not released any suspect information and anyone with information is asked to contact 843-915-8477. Ida Lane is off Highway 378, south of the Dog Bluff area.

Several people at the home on Tuesday morning declined to talk about the shooting. Yellow police tape was still strewn throughout the yard from where officers investigated the area.
