Child, 2 adults killed in Sunday shooting on Drake Lane in Horry County, officials say
A child and two adults, all members of the same family, died in an Horry County shooting on Sunday.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as 47-year-old Brian Brady, 42-year-old Krista Brady and 9-year-old Teagan Brady. All three died from apparent gunshot wounds, according to deputy coroner Darris Fowler. Autopsies are scheduled for tomorrow.
Horry County police officers went to Drake Lane around 2:45 p.m. for the reported shooting, police spokeswoman Mikayla Moskov said. Neighbors reported hearing several shots, according to police radio traffic.
Police have yet to say if the shooter is among the dead, but stressed there is no threat to the public.
Officers arrived at the home to find a man face down and not moving. Neighbors said a woman was also inside the home, according to a police report.
Horry County police continue to investigate the shooting.
The county’s SWAT and other police teams also responded to the scene. Hours after the shooting, dozens of police cars and yellow police tape blocked the road where the shooting happened. A few neighbors gathered nearby to see the scene.
Several neighbors who live on Drake Lane declined to comment about the shooting when reached by The Sun News on Monday.
Neither Brian Brady nor Krista Brady have criminal histories in Horry County, South Carolina, other than a traffic ticket, according to court records.
