Three dead following shooting in Horry County, police say
3/30 update: The Horry County Coroner’s Office has identified the victims.
Three people are dead after a shooting on Drake Lane in Horry County, police say.
Horry County police spokeswoman Mikayla Moskov could not provide many details of what led to the Sunday shooting, but said there is no threat to the public.
Officers went to Drake Lane around 2:45 p.m. for the reported shooting, Moskov said. Neighbors reported hearing several shots, according to police radio traffic.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not released the names of the victims. Moskov did not have the ages of the deceased. She could also not say if the believed shooter was among the dead.
Horry County police continue to investigate the shooting.
The county’s SWAT and other police teams also responded to the scene. Hours after the shooting, dozens of police cars and yellow police tape blocked the road where the shooting happened. A few neighbors gathered nearby to see the police investigate.
