Coroner identifies man from Loris as the victim of a deadly shooting Wednesday

Cory Long, a 36-year-old from Loris, is the man who was killed in Wednesday’s early-morning shooting on Wright Road in the Loris/Tabor City, N.C. area, according to Horry County deputy coroner Michelle McSpadden.

Long died at McLeod Loris Hospital of a gunshot wound. The shooting happened around 4 a.m. An autopsy was performed Wednesday.

Horry County police are investigating the shooting, and anyone with information is asked to call 843-248-1520.
