A 29-year-old died in a Wednesday night shooting near Coastal Carolina University, officials said.
Horry County Coroner Robert Edge confirmed Thursday morning that Timothy Sherwin Davis died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The shooting happened around 11 p.m. near the Coastal Villa Apartments, according to Horry County police. The complex is off S.C. 544 and south of Conway.
Horry County police are investigating the shooting, and anyone with information is asked to contact 843-248-1520. Officers searched for a white GMC Envoy shortly after the shooting, according to police radio traffic.
There have been no arrests in connection to the shooting.
Yvonne Davis LaFaithra, the victim’s aunt, said that Timothy worked as a landscaper in the Myrtle Beach area and loved his job.
“Very smart, outgoing,” she said. “He was very intelligent.”
Davis LaFaithra said she didn’t know what led to the shooting, or the suspect. She said she “went crazy” when she found out Timothy was the one shot and killed.
“He was nice to everybody,” she said.
