Horry County Coroner identifies teen killed in Myrtle Beach shooting

A 14-year-old died in a Sunday evening shooting in Myrtle Beach.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified Anthony Lemay as the victim of the shooting. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Myrtle Beach police went to the 500 block of 65th Avenue North around 5:15 p.m. for the reported shooting. Police initially said the victim had “serious injuries” as a result of the shooting, but the victim later died.

The department has released few details about what happened in the shooting, though Cpl. Thomas Vest said one suspect is in custody. The department has not named the person until warrants are served.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 843-918-1382.

The shooting happened in the Wildwood townhomes and several residents on Monday said they didn’t know about the shooting until police arrived or declined to comment.
