Shooting at Myrtle Beach gentleman’s club injures one, police investigating

One person was injured after a shooting at a Myrtle Beach club, police say.

The shooting happened at Derriere’s Gentleman’s Club, 804 Seaboard St., around 1:45 a.m. Myrtle Beach police Cpl. Thomas Vest said one person went to the hospital, and there were no other injuries.

One person was shot in the arm, responding officers said on police radio traffic.

Police continue to investigate the New Year’s Day shooting and anyone with information is asked to contact 843-918-1382. Callers can remain anonymous. The department has not released any suspect information.

At the club, officers met Earl Williams, 30, who was irate and caused a scene as responders tried to provide care for the victim, according to a police report.

Officers arrested Williams for disorderly conduct and he started to resist, according to the report. Police had to take him to the ground to handcuff him.

When authorities searched Williams, they found almost 5 grams of marijuana in his pants’ pocket, the report states.
