Men accused in murder near CCU — with ties to a previous homicide case — denied bond

Two men charged in connection to a murder near Coastal Carolina University will remain in jail after a judge denied bond.

On Wednesday, Judge Robert Hood denied bond for Dorian D. William and Ty-ree L. Graham, according to the 15th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Both were in Horry County court for a hearing.

Police charged the duo with murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. They face life in prison if convicted.

Conway and CCU police responded to the Cove Apartments around 2 a.m. on Aug. 24 for a reported fight. While on the way, dispatchers told officers there were shots fired, and one victim was in the nearby Circle K gas station parking lot.

Officers arrived and determined the shooting happened at The American Tavern, 702 S.C. Highway 544, according to the report.

Investigators say Jamarr White, 24, of Conway, was killed in the shooting. He was shot twice in the upper body, according to arrest warrants.

Dequan Wilson was shot in the back, according to police reports.

Dorian Derrell Williams is a relative of Kristen Williams, who was killed in 2015 at the University Village at the Coast, a former housing development popular with Coastal Carolina students. Wilson was charged with that murder, but in 2018 the charges were dropped.
