Suspect accused of robbing Conway businesses found, arrested at Myrtle Beach hotel

A man accused of committing armed robberies at Conway businesses was arrested in Myrtle Beach this week.

Antonio Xavier Mccray was arrested by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division officers at a Myrtle Beach hotel on Wednesday, according to Conway police.

Mccray was charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and one count of attempted armed robbery. More charges could be added.

On Nov. 27, Conway police responded to Carolina Payday Loans on Church Street for a reported armed robbery. The suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money, police say. Officers named Mccray as a suspect in that robbery.

He was also called a suspect for a previous robbery at the same store and Upfront Loans, also on Church Street, according to police.
