Va. motorcyclist died days after crash occurred

A Virginia motorcyclist involved in a crash in North Myrtle Beach died from injuries days after the incident, authorities said.

Terrence Lee Kane of Virginia was recently identified as a victim who died from injuries suffered during a crash, according to Tony Hendrick, deputy coroner with Horry County.

Kane was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center after he was involved in a crash about 10:45 p.m. May 21 near 31st Avenue North in North Myrtle Beach, Hendrick said.

Kane died about 10:50 a.m. May 26 from head injuries he suffered during the crash.

Hendrick said authorities, including the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team, and the North Myrtle Beach Police Department, are still investigating the incident.

Another motorcyclist involved in a Memorial weekend crash died Sunday, according to authorities.

Charlie Evans, 47, of Henderson, N.C., died at 11 a.m. Sunday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from injuries he suffered in the motorcycle crash that occurred on May 22 on U.S. 17 in North Myrtle Beach, Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said.

Lance Cpl. Hannah Wimberly with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the crash occurred on U.S. 17 at Kings Road and involved three motorcyclists and a Chevrolet Sport Utility Vehicle.

Thomas Martin Jr. 52, also of Henderson, N.C., was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Willard said at the time of the crash.

S.C. Highway Patrol's Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the crash.
