Loris man freed for less than 24 hours before Horry County police arrest him again
A Loris man, who was free on bond for less than 24 hours after being charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a security guard, was arrested Wednesday in connection with a woman reporting she was assaulted, according to a police report.
Dustin Chad Peavy, 23, was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 11:08 a.m. Wednesday on a criminal domestic violence charge and released at 9:43 a.m. Thursday on $2,500 bail, according to records.
Peavy was booked into the jail at 12:17 p.m. Monday and charged with attempted murder, according to jail records. He was released at 12:24 p.m. Tuesday on $5,000 bail.
Horry County police were called about 9 p.m. April 30 to a home in the 2600 block of Red Bluff Road where a 22-year-old woman told police that Peavy had assaulted her during an argument, according to the report. The victim had swelling to her cheek, lip, right eye and her lip was busted and there was bruising to her face.
Horry County EMS treated the victim, but she refused to be transported to a hospital, according to the report. The victim, who is pregnant and has another child with Peavy, told officers that he got upset, kicked her and pushed her to the bed, and choked her.
The victim said she pushed him off her, but he hit her in the face, according to the report. Peavy had left the house before officers arrived.
In an unrelated incident, Horry County police were called about 11:15 p.m. Sunday to Danny’s Sports Bar and Grill at 146 April Gray Lane in the Myrtle Beach area for a shooting.
Officers learned a security guard was shot in the leg after he escorted Peavy from the bar for being disorderly, Lt. Raul Denis said.
