Keith Urban will perform at the Carolina Country Music Festival
The Carolina Country Music Festival has announced a second headliner for the 2016 festival.
Keith Urban will perform at the festival set for June 10-12 on the former Myrtle Beach Pavilion site.
This announcement comes just days after his single “John Cougar, John Deer, John 3:16” hit No. 1.
“Carolina Country Music Fest is excited to present such an amazing entertainer,” said Bob Durkin, President of FHP. “Keith Urban is a multi-talented musician and a hugely popular TV personality. This year we are taking CCMF to the next level, and this Keith Urban announcement does just that.”
Urban is working on an untitled album, the first since his fourth number one album, “Fuse,” was released in 2013.
Urban has won four Grammy Awards and eight Academy of Country Music Awards including Entertainer of the year in 2006.
Some of Urban’s hit songs include “Sweet Thing,” “Who Wouldn’t Want to Be Me” and “Stupid Boy.”
Urban is also one of the judges on “American Idol,” making him the only country artist to serve as a judge on the show. He will return as a judge for the show’s 15th and final season.
In his personal life, Urban is married to actress Nicole Kidman.
Urban joins Tim McGraw who was the first headliner announced in August.
The inaugural Carolina Country Music Festival drew in as many as 20,000 fans. Performers included Lady Antebellum, Eric Church and Big & Rich.
Additional artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
