Myrtle Beach man dies in second weekend fatal collision in coastal city

A second Myrtle Beach resident died on Sunday from a fatal accident involving a moped.

Earl Glenn, 38, was struck by a vehicle while he was operating a moped on 48th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

Glenn was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he later died from injuries sustained in the accident.

The fatality is the second one on Sunday that came from a collision. Another Myrtle Beach man, who was crossing North Kings Highway on foot, was hit by a motorcycle on Saturday. The man, Michael Whiteis, died on Sunday from injuries he sustained.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department is investigating both cases.
