Gas prices on the rise across Myrtle Beach area. Where are the cheapest spots?

Residents along the Grand Strand are paying more at the pumps as gas prices continue to rise.

Average gasoline prices in the Myrtle Beach area have risen more than 70 cents in the last week, averaging $3.22 per gallon as of Monday, according to GasBuddy, a fuel-services platform that offers gas prices nationwide in real time. That’s more than 20 cents higher than the national average.

The national average price of gasoline has risen 51 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.45 per gallon on Monday.

Gas prices have skyrocketed across the U.S. in the past week. The price increase comes after the United States and Israel launched a joint offensive against Iran on Feb. 28.

The cheapest station in Myrtle Beach was offering gas at $2.46 per gallon Sunday, while the most expensive was $3.49 per gallon, according to a survey of 197 stations in Myrtle Beach by GasBuddy.

Prices are more than 69 cents per gallon higher than a month ago, the survey showed.

As of 9:25 a.m. Monday, the cheapest gas station along the Grand Strand was Marathon at 4100 B SC 544 in Myrtle Beach with $2.28 per gallon, according to GasBuddy. The highest was Shell & Refuel, 6151 SC 707 in Socastee, at $3.39 per gallon.
