Who to call for SC power outages, downed trees. Resource list ahead of winter storm
Residents are making preparations as the Grand Strand readies for the weekend storm that is expected to bring extreme cold temperatures, freezing rain and possible power outages.
Light rain on Friday is expected to turn into a wintry mix on Saturday and into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Areas inland will receive ice accumulations that could knock out power and freeze pipes. Dangerously low temperatures will continue into next week, which means ice will linger, the NWS said.
For residents who are in need of resources for such things as downed power lines or trees, flooded streets, or road conditions, here are a list of phone numbers for county, city and state agencies.
Those with emergencies should call 911.
