A person killed in a Myrtle Beach house fire just before Christmas has still not officially been identified, the coroner’s office confirmed on Monday.

A house fire on Lexi Lane on Dec. 23 killed one person who lived in the home and injured another, The Sun News previously reported.

Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard confirmed the death via an email sent Monday, and stated that the person has not yet been identified due to the extent of their injuries from the fire.

Myrtle Beach Fire Department crews responded to the blaze early in the morning. The fire took place in the 1200 block of Lexi Lane, and caused explosions that woke nearby residents, The Sun News previously reported.
