Want to catch ‘Stranger Things’ finale on big screen in Myrtle Beach? Here’s where
Looking for a way to spend your New Year’s Eve? How about a trip to the Upside Down with hundreds of strangers?
As the “Stranger Things” series readies to say goodbye to Hawkins, Myrtle Beach area residents can join other fans of the popular Netflix show by watching it on the big screen.
Viewers will take one last trip into the Upside Down as the long-awaited last chapter will have limited fan screenings in more than 500 U.S. theaters, which includes Cinemark, located at 2100 Coastal Grand Circle in the Coastal Grand Mall.
But if you want to snag a ticket, you should do it quickly as many of the showings on Dec. 31, the day the season finale drops, are sold out. The showing does run through Jan. 1, 2026, but you may not want to run the risk of any spoilers before then.
As of 10:16 a.m. Wednesday, only two seats were left for the two 8 p.m. showings, 10 for the 8:10 p.m. showing and three for the 11:30 p.m. showing. There are still plenty of seats available for the 11:35 p.m. show, but one of the 8 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. screenings are sold out. Tickets are $20.
The finale will be 2 hours and 5 minutes and will wrap up the series that is set in 1987 in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. A group of teen heroes, including Eleven and her special powers, are attempting to track down and kill Vecna.
“But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown,” according to the movie synopsis. “Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
“Stranger Things 5” will be released in three segments on Netflix. The first dropped on Nov. 26; the second will appear Dec. 25; and the finale on Dec. 31.
