A Myrtle Beach restaurant serving Korean barbecue and hot pot recently closed its doors, raising questions online about whether it will reopen.

Hi-Pot, which opened in August 2023 at 124 Loyola Drive, is known for serving assorted platters of meat and vegetables in a communal dining style, where the food is cooked right at the table. However, the restaurant has now been closed for several days — without much indication of its intent to reopen.

On Google, the restaurant is labeled as temporarily closed. A visit to the restaurant by a Sun News reporter on Wednesday afternoon revealed that the restaurant was closed, darkened and locked. A sign on the door read “Equipment failure. Temporarily closed.”

Nobody was available at the restaurant to answer questions, and phone calls to the restaurant’s number went unanswered, with no option to leave messages.

While it appears that the restaurant has intentions to reopen in the near future, the nature of the equipment failure and how long it will take to fix remain undisclosed.
