A new Korean Barbecue restaurant is open in the Myrtle Beach area. Here’s the menu

A new Grand Strand restaurant is offering customers a communal dining experience with lot’s of options to choose from.

Hi Pot Korean Barbecue & Hot Pot opened Aug. 24. The restaurant’s address is 124 Loyola Drive.

A popular Korean cooking style, hot pot dining patrons get to cook their meals at their table in a communal setting. According to Bon Appétit, Patrons pick from an assortment of platters with various meats and vegetables and boil them in a broth right before their eyes.

Hi Pot food platters including beef & lamb, pork belly, shrimp, chicken, goose and duck are also available. Hi Pot also serves seafood platters like scallops, oysters, imitation crab, and tofu and veggie options for vegetarian eaters. Hi Pot also offers adults and children all-you-can-eat options too.

The eatery can seat about 130 people, restaurant manager Han Yan said. Hours are currently Monday through Sunday, noon to midnight but are subject to change in the future, Yan added.

The restaurant is also hiring, Yan added.

When The Sun News surveyed readers for what kinds of new businesses they wanted to see open in Myrtle Beach, several respondents clamored for more diverse food choices, especially Asian-themed restaurants.

Coincidentally, Hi Pot and other new restaurants across the Grand Strand are meeting that demand.
