Power was restored for over 800 households after a tree fell on a line in the Socastee area.

Horry Electric Cooperative confirmed 866 households were without power since Sunday morning from about 10:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The outage impacted homes near S.C. 544 and S.C. 707, an online map shows.

A resident was cutting trees when one fell on the power line. Crews removed the tree and power came back, said Jennifer Cummings, the public relations manager with Horry Electric Cooperative. Crews were dispatched to determine the source shortly after people lost power, according to a social media post from Horry Electric Cooperative.
