SUV hits, kills motorcyclist near North Myrtle Beach, SC. Driver arrested for hit and run
Local authorities have charged an SUV driver with DUI and hit and run outside of North Myrtle Beach after crashing into a motorcyclist, who later died from his injuries.
Steven Marshall, 62, was heading west on Sea Mountain Highway when a Cadillac SUV police say was driven by Kayla Tisdale turned right from Morgan Avenue on to the highway and hit Marshall, according to authorities with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and Horry County Coroner’s Office.
The crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
EMS brought Marshall to the Grand Strand Medical Center where he died at 6:39 p.m. Friday.
Tisdale, 36, was arrested for a felony driving under the influence resulting in death, hit and run resulting in death, child endangerment, child passenger restraint violation, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving a vehicle with a missing or incorrectly displayed license plate and duties of driver hitting fixtures along the highway, SCHP Master Trooper Brandon Bolt said on Sunday.
The Little River woman has been held without bail at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center since Friday.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the crash.
