Over the weekend, a wildfire spanned 1,600 acres in the Carolina Forest part of unincorporated Horry County.

As the flames spread and first responders started knocking door to door with evacuation notices, community members took to local social media pages to share what they were seeing.

Coastal wildfires can be different than inland ones. In this case, helicopters and planes were used to dump saltwater from the Intracoastal Waterway onto the flames.

Other videos from earlier in the weekend depict orange flames peeking behind homes in Carolina Forest.

Some folks reported catching the blaze from backyard cameras on their homes.
