A beach in North Myrtle Beach is ranked as one of the top 5 in U.S. ahead of spring break
Spring break is just around the corner, with some families still trying to decide where to go for that week off of school.
For Myrtle Beach locals, the week off could be met with a staycation among some of the highest ranked beaches and family vacation spots.
Hidden in the northern most point of the Grand Strand sits a beach that’s beloved by anyone who visits: Cherry Grove.
The beautiful North Myrtle Beach spot received confirmation of its glory with a top five spot in a national ranking of the best U.S. beaches ahead of spring break.
Cherry Grove Beach was the only South Carolina beach to make their top 10, with beaches in California, North Carolina, Florida, Texas and Delaware high up in the rankings. The North Myrtle Beach hidden gem shared second place with Kure Beach in North Carolina, the list said.
“A peaceful retreat on the northern tip of the Grand Strand, Cherry Grove Beach is known for its wide, inviting shoreline and the iconic Cherry Grove Pier,” the second place entry said. “The gentle surf makes it a favorite for families, while its quiet atmosphere offers a contrast to the livelier beaches farther south.”
Other S.C. beaches received shoutouts further down the list, including Edisto Beach, Folly Beach and Surfside Beach.
The list was compiled by vacation rental company, HomeToGo, and features 35 beaches throughout the U.S.
