Myrtle Beach area TV meteorologist is leaving. Here’s who it is & what we know
After nearly 12 years delivering weather forecasts, a Myrtle Beach meteorologist is leaving.
WMBF’s Robert Whitehurst gave his last weather forecast yesterday, on Feb. 12.
In honor of his time in the Grand Strand, WMBF put together a six and a half minute goodbye message to Whitehurst. It originally aired on Feb. 12.
It’s unclear where Whitehurst will go next.
Chief meteorologist for WMBF, Jamie Arnold, posted a farewell message to his colleague on his work Facebook page.
“I couldn’t be there to say it in person, but Meteorologist Robert Whitehurst WMBF is one of the best meteorologists I’ve ever come across,” Arnold’s message said. “We’ve spent 12 years working together and he’s been an amazing part of the team. Thanks for everything, Robert and wishing you all the best in the future.”
This is the second WMBF on air personality to be leaving so far this year. In January, morning anchor Derrion Henderson announced his departure from the station.
