A new pizza place has come to the Socastee area, bringing sub sandwiches and pizza by the slice to the neighborhood.

Palmetto Pointe Pizza, located at 3711 Palmetto Point Blvd., opened the second week of February. Patrons can order pizza slices starting at $3 or a whole pie starting at $10.75. The menu also includes other Italian-American classics like strombolli, pasta and subs.

The owner of Palmetto Pointe Pizza did not respond to a request to comment before publication. According to a social media post, the owner comes from Long Island, New York, and has worked in pizzerias for 17 years.

The new restaurant replaced Gemma’s Cafe.

New York style pizza is a popular option in the Myrtle Beach area, with places like Cafe Vincenzo’s and Anto’s Pizza also serving up the thin-crust pies.
