A new cancer treatment center is opening in the Myrtle Beach area. Here’s what we know
Myrtle Beach teems with new developments throughout the area that bring new homes or apartment complexes for residents. However, a development along Highway 17 aims to improve the health of its residents.
Construction on a partially finished building at 4500 Wild Iris Drive will bring a new medical center to the area. In March 2024, Coastal Cancer Oncology Center received a building permit for a 13,400-square-foot, single-story treatment center near Myrtlewood Golf Club between Wild Iris Drive and Highway 17 Bypass North.
Horry County Land Records shows that Wild Iris Realty LLC bought the more than 3-acre property from Burroughs & Chapin in February 2024 for about $1 million. The South Carolina Secretary of State’s website shows that one of Coastal Cancer Center’s physicians, Dr. Emily Touloukian, is the registered agent for Wild Iris Realty LLC.
Coastal Cancer Center did not return a request for comment before publication.
The center isn’t the only new medical facility along the Grand Strand. Conway Medical Center opened a new primary care and dermatology office in the Grande Dunes area in 2024.
