With construction ongoing, a new medical facility is coming to the Grande Dunes area.

Located across the street from the Watercrest Myrtle Beach assisted living facility at 6151 Colline Verde Way, the initial phases of the new building have been erected. The project is part of the Conway Medical Center chain of medical and healthcare centers, according to a street sign in front of the construction and Novant Health. Novant Health is a not-for-profit healthcare system with locations in North and South Carolina.

The new site will be a primary care and dermatology office, Media Relations Strategist for Conway Medical Center Allyson Floyd confirmed. She added that the facility is expected to open during the summer of 2024.

The new center comes as Novant continuing partnership with the Grand Strand-based non-profit. Novant took a 30 percent member interest in CMC as part of a new strategic relationship, Novant reported in an August 2023 press release. Part of the deal included adding six Novant Health representatives to CMC’s board of trustees, expanding it to 21 members.

Novant Health did not return a request for comment before publication.

The land itself, owned by Conway Hospital INC, is about 4 acres with a property value of about $1.7 million, according to Horry County Land Records. Conway Hospital INC bought the parcel for the same amount in August 2021.
