A second Big Lots location in the Myrtle Beach area will shut its doors. At 710 Highway 17 South Street D in North Myrtle Beach, the Big Lots location will close. A sign at the front of the store announced the closing.

It’s the second Grand Strand location that will close. Conway’s Big Lots store is also closing and has a fire sale with some items up to 25 percent off before it permanently shuts its doors. The closures came as Big Lots, the company, had a difficult 2024.

The firm declared bankruptcy this year and announced it would close 35 to 40 stores while only opening three new establishments in a 2024 filing with the federal government. Big Lots also announced via a Dec. 27, 2024, press release that Variety Wholesalers, Inc. intends to buy between 200 and 400 Big Lots locations.
