A Big Lots is closing in the Myrtle Beach area. All items are on sale. Here’s what to know
A national retail store in Conway will soon shut its doors to the public.
Big Lots at 1641 Church St. posted signs at the front of the location announcing the impending closure.
A sign at the front of the store announced that items in the entire store were up to 25% off due to the closing. When The Sun News called the store for comment, an employee said to contact Big Lots’ press department.
A spokesperson for Big Lots declined to comment further. It is unclear what the final date for the store will be.
It’s also unclear what will replace the store when it does close.
The closing comes as the company undergoes significant changes. In 2024, Big Lots declared bankruptcy and reported to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it planned to close 35 to 40 stores.
Big Lots did announce in a press release Dec. 27, 2024, that it would sell to Gordon Brothers Retail Partners. The press release also announced that the firm Variety Wholesalers will purchase and operate between 200 and 400 Big Lots stores.
