New Myrtle Beach restaurant offers modern, southern comfort food and stunning ocean views
A new restaurant offering stunning ocean views and modern, southern comfort food has opened along Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.
Flavor Hills Restaurant and Bar has taken over the former Bandito’s Cantina at 1410 N. Ocean Blvd., located on the second floor of The Blvd building.
The restaurant will serve brunch, lunch and dinner and offer upscale southern dishes, including Hot Honey Pimento Chicken Sandwich, catfish, biscuits and gravy, Cajun shrimp and grits, crab and collard dip and fried green tomatoes.
The Myrtle Beach location is the second for the four owners of the restaurant. The other spot is in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tellers Pollard, who is partners with Andre Truss, Eric Johnson and Morgan Jenkins, said he has been to Myrtle Beach before and was “always intrigued” by the many food options in the city.
“However, I felt like something was missing,” said Pollard, adding that he couldn’t find any place that offered up southern comfort food similar to his restaurant.
In addition, there aren’t too many places in the area that also serve brunch, Pollard said.
So the owners researched Myrtle Beach and when the former Bandito’s space became available, they jumped at the chance to open a new location within the city.
Pollard said everything will be homemade, including the cocktails.
He said the goal is to have diners “eat, laugh and drink,” while experiencing the effort put toward the taste and plating of the food.
“(The restaurant) is a different feel for the beach,” Pollard said.
