One person dead after drowning in a pool at Myrtle Beach motel on South Ocean Boulevard

A 37-year-old man is dead after drowning in the pool at the Twilight Surf Motel in Myrtle Beach, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

Grace Mendonda, of Charlotte, died at the South Strand Medical Center around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 3, Willard said in a release. He was pulled from the pool at the Twilight Surf Motel, 1701 South Ocean Blvd.

The circumstances of his death are unclear. The Myrtle Beach Police Department is investigating his death.

This is the sixth drowning in Myrtle Beach area this summer. The other five were children, The Sun News reported.
