Myrtle Beach is getting new townhomes that should open before the summer season.

Named Wind Flower Townhomes, the seven-unit development will each have three bedrooms, a garage for one car, a balcony, a loft, two bathrooms and a dining room, said project manager Majid Adwan.

The project, formerly the site of a Sonic, should be completed in April 2024, Adwan added.

“(The property owners) realized that the best usage of their land was to kind of build kind of townhomes near the ocean for investment property,” Adwan said in an interview with The Sun News. “That’s why they went ahead and started doing this project.”

Wind Flower Townhomes is across the street from Whiskey Roots, a new whiskey-inspired eatery at 205 N. Kings Highway. Each unit should cost about $600,000, Adwan said, and the townhomes could be used as short-term rentals.

“I will assume they’re gonna do Airbnb,” he said. “It’s gonna be like a beach house.”

The property itself is .66 acres, according to Horry County Land Records. Sold for $375,000 in 2016, the tract’s market value is $702,640, according to Horry County Land Records. It’s not the only townhome project going up in the Myrtle Beach, SC area.

The Villas at Carolina Forest is a new townhome community being built along Carolina Forest Boulevard, The Sun News reported in Dec. 2023, and 82 townhomes are being built near Legends Golf Resort.
