A new built-to-rent community with a golf course view is now leasing properties.

Moorland Reserve is an 82-unit townhome community with a view of The Moorland Course at the Legends Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC, according to a press release.

Though initially opened in August Moorland Reserve Business Manager Lauren Davies said, the community is having its grand opening Nov. 29, 2023.

The townhome floor plan is three bedroom and 2.5 bath, with rent starting at $2,137. The fully gated community will have amenities like a pool, pickleball courts and walkable trails throughout the golf resort, according to the press release.

Davies also said residents can take advantage of the Legends Golf Resort’s amenities, and each townhome garage has room for a golf cart and car.

The community is at 228 Moorland Reserve Place in Myrtle Beach, SC. Davies added eight leases have been signed so far, with a few residents already living on the property, and about 10-20 tours are taking place a month.

The new community is not the first built-to-rent community on the Grand Strand. A 122-unit townhome community called Reve Park Ridge is coming to the North Myrtle Beach area, The Sun News reported in November 2023.

In July 2023, The Sun News reported on The Cottages at Myrtle Beach in Carolina Forest. The built-to-rent community has residents occupying cottages. Myrtle Beach is currently a hub for this new type of development. The Myrtle Beach metro area had the seventh-most built-to-rent units completed in America in 2022, according to the rental data website RentCafe.
