Two people have been arrested in connection with a downtown Myrtle Beach shooting that left one person dead, police said Saturday.

Adrian Villareal, 36, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, died at a local hospital after being shot in the 900 block of Chester Street, Michelle McSpadden, Horry County’s deputy coroner, said in an email. The death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police said Johnathan Verbos, 29, and Brittany Wolfe, 32, both of Myrtle Beach, are facing charges related to the shooting as the investigation continues, but neither have been charged specifically with the shooting. Both were slated for bond hearings Saturday.

Verbos was charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol, unlawful neglect of a child and possession of cocaine. Wolfe faces charges of unlawful neglect of a child and possession of cocaine.
