A longtime North Myrtle Beach seafood restaurant will open Friday after fire damaged the building last month.

Preston’s Seafood and Country Restaurant posted on its website that it will reopen at 4 p.m.

“For the first time since the fire in April. We look forward to having our customers return and thank you for your patience during this difficult time,” the site says.

A call to the restaurant Friday was not answered.

The restaurant has been in business for more than 30 years. It is located near Barefoot Landing.

A customer leaving the restaurant on April 27 alerted staff that the business, 4530 Highway 17 S, was on fire, according to the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue.

The customer noticed that fire was coming from the roof, a Facebook post reported at the time. When fire crews arrived, they found the fire along the exterior roof line of the front of the building and worked to put it out. The front entrance of the restaurant did receive damage because of the water used by crews to battle the blaze.

Because of the fire, the restaurant posted that it would be closed for repairs until further notice.
