Myrtle Beach restaurant reopens after 150 gallons of water flooded dining room. Take a look

Winna’s Kitchen reopened on Wednesday with an updated menu after being closed three months due to flooding.

Diners were welcomed into the downtown Myrtle Beach restaurant, which now has refinished floors and new ceilings and countertops.

The warmer-weather menu features a corn and potato pie, bulgogi bowl, ube French toast and the return of chicken salad for summer. They’ve also added pastries, like croissants and cheese danishes.

At the end of December, water streamed through the ceiling of the downtown Myrtle Beach restaurant. The corroded water heater left 2 inches of water on the floor of the basement, coffee bar and part of the seating area, said co-owner Kinsey Muller.

A GoFundMe started in December raised almost $4,500 for repairs. The restaurant’s kitchen was unaffected, so staff did catering during the three-month closure.

Winna’s Kitchen was opened in 2021 by the husband, wife and daughter team. The website states, “Our food is Southern, global, eclectic, and delicious!” They serve brunch, lunch and monthly tasting menu dinners. Chef Jess Sagun won the Cooking Channel competition “Chef Swap on the Beach” in October 2022.
