See video of ‘torrential downpour’ inside this Myrtle Beach restaurant

Water streamed through the ceiling at Winna’s Kitchen in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday morning, believed to be caused by an upstairs water heater.

The downpour flooded the basement, coffee bar and part of the seating area of the restaurant on Main Street in downtown Myrtle Beach.

“It was like a torrential downpour for two hours,” says co-owner Kinsey Muller, who discovered two inches of water on the floor when she arrived at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Water still dripped from the ceiling at 10 a.m.

Muller anticipates having to replace the restaurant’s espresso machine, register and bar stools. She also worries that the ceiling will need to be torn out. The cost and extent of repairs is still to be determined.
