This ocean front mansion is off the market. It’s Horry County’s priciest home resale ever.

This home in Myrtle Beach’s Grande Dunes section became the largest residential resale in Horry County’s history, closing for $4.95 in cash deal in January 2023.

On Dec. 1, a sprawling Grande Dunes home with oceanfront access, a bocce court and multiple terraces hit the market.

Within weeks, the 8914 N. Ocean Blvd. house made history as the highest ever resale of a residential property in Horry County — a $4.95 million cash deal that could reset the luxury home market, its listing agent said.

“Despite rising interest rates and things cooling off a tad, it shows the quality and strength of the market,” said Theresa Jehle of Realty ONE Group Dockside. “We’re starting to get price points that are really appropriate for these homes.”

County property records show the deed transferred Jan. 4 to Daniel Schuster, founder and CEO of The Remi Group — a leading provider of equipment maintenance management programs.

Traditionally, the Grand Strand’s jumbo price tag homes are clustered around Murrell’s Inlet and Pawleys Island — but two other properties for sale in Grande Dunes for between $1.6 million and $2.8 million suggest a northern expansion of luxury home sales.

In November, a Scala Court property — also within Grande Dunes — went for $2.4 million.

At more than 10,000 square feet, the Ocean Boulevard home built in 2014 features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, an elevator, private beach walkway and two indoor gas fireplaces.

“This home, even if you could touch it down in that south Florida area, would be upwards of $15 to $20 million. Really quality homes that are in great shape that people have invested and kept up will sell extremely well here,” Jehle said. “that luxury price tag has moved up to this this area so I would expect the next house in similarly lovely condition, if it was me, I would list it close to $6 million.”
