Coroner identifies Aynor woman whose car was flipped over in Myrtle Beach pond

An Aynor woman who died after her car flipped into a Myrtle Beach retention pond has been identified by the coroner.

Taylor Hughes, 23, was driving her vehicle on the ramp of Highway 22 from Highway 17 Bypass when she drove off the road and into the pond around 1:45 a.m. on Monday, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

Horry County Fire Rescue responded Monday to a call about the flipped car, according to a tweet from the agency.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
