Loris man who died after falling out of boat is identified by coroner

A Loris man who fell out of a boat in the Little Pee Dee River has been identified by the coroner’s office.

Harless Floyd, 73, fell out of the boat south of Punchbowl Landing, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden.

Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a call about an overturned boat in the Little Pee Dee River in Conway about 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, according to a tweet from the agency.

Divers with the agency recovered the body.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
