A Horry County coroner has identified the cyclist who died after being hit by a car in Loris.
Dameion Fowler, of Loris, was biking on Red Bluff Road near Silver Sand Drive on Friday when he was struck, according to an email from Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy.
The driver of the Nissan sports utility vehicle hit the back of the bicycle while traveling north on the road early Friday morning, South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Lee said.
It is not clear if the driver will face any charges.
Fowler was taken to Loris Hospital where he died from his injuries, Bellamy said.
