74-year-old Loris man identified as pedestrian killed in Conway crash

A 74-year-old man has been identified as a pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle in Conway Tuesday, officials said.

Ralph Harris of Loris died of traumatic injuries after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Rush Road in Conway, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office. He was taken to Conway Medical Center immediately after the crash around 6 p.m., where he later died around 7:30 p.m.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

SCHP trooper Nick Pye said the person inside the vehicle didn’t sustain any injuries following the crash.
